If I'm going to do a lot of these, I'll have to start adding fan fiction as well. For years I mostly read those.
So I picked this books, because it has two rebels in it. One is Arya Stark. She's the younger daughter of Ned, and a real tomboy. While her mother and sister are horrified by this, her father supported it. He even got her a sword master to teach her. After everything that happens in the first book, she is on her own in the second. Her rebel nature really starts to show then.
Daenerys Targaryen is another rebel in the book. A Queen in many ways, she is a young woman who faces many hardships, but prevails.
So there are more rebels in this book. These are strange times, and people need to go against the grain if they are to survive. Partly what is so good about the series.
